About Me

Credentials:

BS in Psychology (Palo Alto University)
Certified Personal Trainer (National Academy of Sports Science)
Certified Nutrition Coach (Precision Nutrition)

The transformation between these two photos started within. After experiencing multiple losses, I coped by binge-eating, drinking and partying. Yes, that's a cigarette in my hand -- and no, I don't smoke anymore. Though I was left feeling worse, these unhealthy coping mechanisms provided temporary relief and distraction from my grief.

"When the pain of remaining the same becomes greater than the pain of changing, we will change." I finally got to a point where I knew I had to do something different. I was at my lowest, but I was ready to face my grief head on.

First, I accepted where I was and forgave myself for the choices I had made. Then, I envisioned myself as resilient, vibrant, fit and strong! Besides working with a therapist, I channeled my pain into physical activity.  I used my anger and grief to propel me forward and stayed consistent by remembering my WHY. I finally had a sense of purpose again.

A leaner, fitter and stronger body was a byproduct of the respect, resilience and faith I had built within myself. Fitness has been my saving grace for the past decade. It has allowed me to remember how mentally and physically strong I am, especially when I don't feel like it in life.
